The DSA Car and Motorcycle Theory Test was introduced in July 1996, aimed to improve the safety of newly qualified drivers and riders
The test is made up of two parts the first being to answer 50 multiple choice questions and the second part is a test of your hazard perception skills, please note you have to pass both parts to pass the Theory Test and you will be required to show a theory test pass certificate to the DSA Examiner prior to sitting your practicle Driving / Motorcycle test.
THE THEORY TEST
The theory test consists of a touch screen computerised, multiple choice set of 50 questions with a pass mark of 43 and having 57 minutes to complete the test,
THE HAZARD PERCEPTION
The Hazard Perception test consists of 14 video clips where you will have to identify developing hazards the current pass mark is 44 out of a possible 75
PASSING THE THEORY TEST
No doubt you've heard your friends and Families and colleagues saying that the theory test is simply and you shouldn't worry, just remember any thing is easy if you know the answers. Here at RSM we advise our students that studying prior to taking the theory test is essential and that until you have achieved at least 5 successive mock test passes of 45 or above you should refrain from taking the test.
Here at Right Start Motoring we can assist you with your preparation prior to taking the test - we can provide you with training aids so that you can study in the comforts of your own home, we will provide one to one tutuion if required and we'll also provide you with mock tests and offer feedback after completion, simply we will provide what ever support you need prior to taking your theory test.
ONCE YOU PASS
Once you have successfully completed the DSA Theory Test the certicate issued lasts for a period of 2 years, should you not pass the DSA Driving / Motorcycle practicle test within that 2 year period you will have to re-take the theory test again.
